HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
The Library of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province, hereinafter referred to as the KPwBI Jabar Library, began its operations in 1984. Library operations were temporarily suspended for renovations in December 2019 and officially reopened on February 24, 2024, by the Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Ms. Destry Damayanti. Library services are available to employees working within the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province and the general public. This is in accordance with Article 26 of Law Number 43 of 2007 concerning Libraries, which states that special libraries provide services to users within their environment and limited services to external users.
The KPwBI Jabar Library is located at the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province, Jalan Braga No. 108 Bandung, specifically on the 1st floor of the office building lobby, making it highly accessible to visitors and library users.
In its journey, the KPwBI West Java Province Library obtained an "A" Accreditation (Excellent) from the Library Accreditation Agency of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (LAP-PNRI) in 2019, and successfully maintained its "A" Accreditation during the re-accreditation process in 2024.
VISION, MISSION, AND OBJECTIVES
The Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the KPwBI Jabar Library are based on Circular Letter Number 18/119/INTERN dated December 29, 2016, regarding the Bank Indonesia Library as follows:
Vision
To become the most comprehensive reference and information center in Indonesia in the fields of monetary policy, financial system stability, and payment systems-Rupiah currency management, based on information and communication technology.
Mission
To support Bank Indonesia's policies in improving the quality and competence of knowledge-based human resources through the availability of diverse library collections, managed professionally with excellent service and strengthened by information and communication technology.
Objectives
To support Bank Indonesia's work programs;
To support Bank Indonesia's research;
To promote reading interests within Bank Indonesia and its surrounding environment; and
To meet the needs of users within the Bank Indonesia Library environment.
DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE, AND INSTITUTIONAL STATUS
The KPwBI Jabar Library is a Special Library owned by Bank Indonesia, established to support the implementation of Bank Indonesia's functions and duties, with specialized subjects or disciplines in monetary policy, financial system stability, payment systems-Rupiah currency management, and other fields that support Bank Indonesia's mandates.
Duties
The KPwBI Jabar Library is a library unit managed by the Bank Indonesia Representative Office, tasked with managing the Bank Indonesia KPwBI Library in West Java Province.
Functions
The KPwBI Jabar Library functions as a reference library and learning resource center within the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of West Java Province.

The organizational structure and institutional status of the KPwBI Jabar Library refer to the organizational provisions issued by the work unit responsible for organizational management and human resource management functions.
